Default mid to late in mtt strategy

I usually play cash ring games but ive gotten in a few tournaments lately. I have had success getting to the middle or late stages right before the bubble of the tournament. Only to get caught with someone calling my 4x or 5x bb with me having ak or aq then the flop comes k97 or q97 or something similar then i check raise them and they end up holding k7 or q7, My thinking of my big preflop raise would get these players out must be wrong. This puts me at a low chip stack then i end up having to take a chance at a hand going all in. i usually get busted out. Any ideas. i usually play $2 or $3 sng or mtt.
any info would be greatly appreciated

Sorry it won't stop people sucking out 2 pair against your TPTK though.
