The first was called 5 card draw. A Newton free roll on stars. It was madness. I didn't know WTH was going on. Getting dealt a straight in the first hand in LP with three people going all-in in front of me was good however. I don't think I've ever quadrupled up before. At least I had chips and got to donk about some. I was 11th out of 5800+ or something lol. By the end of it I'm pretty convinced it's as rigged as all the other games though.
Anyway, seems like 3 of a kind is pretty much gold. Straights+ don't happen all that often, is that correct. Is discarding 3 and drawing to your pair the way to play? What if I have 3 to a flush/straight + a pair? Should I still draw to the pair or is going for the flush/straight, which is likely the super-uber-nuts the right play, especially if the pair is low. All so crazy!
Still had insances where I lost to set over set and a guy outstraighted me once (hrrmm I'm not sure I like that word).
The next one was called Single Draw 2-7. A Ptolemy free roll. It seemed almost blasphamous. Breaking up pairs, throwing out high cards, Maddening. Turns out Aces are just high though which cost me at least one pot before I realized what was going on.
In this one it seems that a starting hand with 3 cards below 9 or 10 is pretty good. Dump the 2 high ones and see what happens. I think you can bluff a bit when people only draw 1 card because they seem to hit pairs a lot so you don't need a super low hand to beat them. They keep folding to my bets at least so something is going on.
Anyone have any thoughts on this one?

Ptolemy was the author of several scientific treatises, three of which would be of continuing importance to later Islamic and European science. The first is the astronomical treatise now known as the Almagest (in Greek, Η Μεγάλη Σύνταξις, "The Great Treatise", originally Μαθηματική Σύνταξις, "Mathematical Treatise"). The second is the Geography, which is a thorough discussion of the geographic knowledge of the Greco-Roman world. The third is the astrological treatise known in Greek as the Apotelesmatika (Ἀποτελεσματικά), or more commonly in Greek as the Tetrabiblos ("Four books"), in which he attempted to adapt horoscopic astrology to the Aristotelian natural philosophy of his day.

Break #3. 152/292. The quality of play is starting to improve. I think my rounds are numbered. Which is fine because I should have gone to sleep ages ago.

196/7000. Not bad for a game I've never played before I would say. Pretty fun too. I recommend it.
