Default Online Angle Play

Ok, I've never seen this before so I thought I'd mention it...

I was at a limit table and one guy was talking a fair amount of crap. He was lying about what hands he held, etc. Just a generally annoying player, but not too terrible.

Then at one point he chats "last hand" and comes in for a raise.

He gets a few callers and eventually wins the pot with wired kings.

Then he chats, "that last hand crap, always gets a few extra calls"

What an ass, but it still was an angle play that was new to me.

I wouldn't play the hand any differently.

Yes, it is an angle shoot, and you can probably email party and have his chat revoked for a short amount of time.

Classic

I think the 'last hand' bit works because so many people will do that on free money tables & go all in on their last hand. I bet it works nearly as well at real money tables.

In this time, turn your chat off. I don't really mind if a player says anything, I never read the chat .

IMO it's ok.

Well...

I do it sometime...

Next hand I'm all in... or next hand I double up... If I pick up As or Ks, I do it. I caught only 3-4 times I think. Remember I got called every time and had a couple of LOL on the chat even coming from the looser.

Did'nt consider it as a non ligit shot considering I sometime do that crap also in live game and I never been criticized for that.

You guys consider it agaist the ethiqutte of poker?
If most of you do, I'll stop... I swear!!!

I read somewhere that poker players lie, so I tend not to believe them when they say stuff...including that they're leaving after this hand.

IMO if you're basing your call on the fact that it might be someone's last hand at the table, you're using some pretty flimsy logic anyhow. The fact that so many apparently (according to KJ) do just renews my faith in the profitability of the online game.

By the way, I have been called by decent hand such as AK 99 or others, but definately hands that would have been fold in other situations.
