when he raises you on the flop you should slow down. it worked out well for you but I would have tried to keep the pot small until I hit my hand.

You are obviously willing to go all the way with this hand, so let this dummy bet into you and if you hit then you can take control of the betting. this is a good spot to induce bets from an inferior hand. your flop re-raise might make him fold (if he had 1/2 a brain) so it is a situation where typically only a better hand will call

if you had 3 overs to the 7 I would play it harder but the 2 doesn't change much other than some runner runner low possibility if he has J7

Easy, he didn't want to risk losing all his chips and be out. Phil could have had KK or 44 and already crushed Tony. Plus Phil might have also had a J with a K or better kicker. Sure it is a HARD laydown that about none of us would ever make, but sometimes people will lay them down in the right position.

I would love to see what people would think if we couldn't see their hole cards. Believe me it wouldn't be so easy to know what they have.

HAHAHA!!!!! I was just about to respond with the same link, Beav. Beat me to the punch. Mad props.

    Marm,
I'd probably call the flop and see what the BB does on the turn. 789J, 89TJ, and 77XX play the flop same as the BB does here, IMHO. I see where your raise came from, but against the straight, flush, and a straight/flush draw, you're not protecting anything and you're flipping a coin way too early in the tourney.

Congrats on winning the hand, but you played it more like it were PLHE than PLO.

I agree with Steve-O on this and would have called the raise on the flop. What I don't know, however, is what I would have done on the turn from there. If the flop bet is called and the turn leaves you with JJJ high, 4 to the nut low, and 15 outs to jacks full do you bet out the pot here? My math says the pot would be 260.

I think I'd pot the turn & call any raise...but then the river doesn't hit. Now what do you bet out? (assume pot is 780 or 1040)
