I play a lot of low-mid buyin tourneys (5+.50, 10+1, 30+3), and I do make it to the last 60+ quite a few times.
Recently, I've been watching the play in higher tournies, such as the 500k and 350k on PS.
I see a lot of players near the very end (last 30 or so players), unless they have a 200k chip lead, just go all in before the flop and hope to win a flip or just take the blinds and antes. For hours its jsut allin before the flop and no callers. Do you guys know what I mean?
Is this the right way to play these situation? Just allin PF everytime?

depends on your situation and cards.... short stack, late position few callers, i guess an all in is not a bad idea. But putting all your chips in is a big risk

JBizzle that sounds like something John Madden would say.
I think with the chips stacks being that varied late in a tournament, anyone understacked knows that they can expect to be raised if they just limp or be forced to most likely bet their entire stack on the hand anyway so you may as well use the advantage to be all-in preflop."Ok, this is for the game. How you doin' over there? NOT TOO GOOD!"" -Bubble Boy

Personaly, I steal a lot but never go all-in pre-flop to do it...
The only hand I would push all in pre-flop late is AA...

To quote Jim Rome, "ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!"
Betting all your chips is a pretty big risk? REALLY???? Wow, I am really glad I decided to register on this forum today, I would have NEVER, EVER found out that info in any other forum!(literally) ROFL
Great information there, I'm sure that really helped him out a lot! Actually, thanks for posting it, got a good laugh out of it!
To get on with my post, I think what JBizzle posted is actually the key to what you are seeing late in tourneys. BETTING ALL YOUR CHIPS IS A BIG RISK. If you combine a couple of the previous posts, you see that some people won't shove with anything other than AA late in a tourney, because it is a big risk! At this late point in a tourney, I would say most people with an above average stack tighten way up. They know they have enough chips to last them for a while, so they can wait for a prime situation to risk their stack(Dan Harrington style). The all-in after all-in you are seeing, is the people who realize that if they get their money in first, they have a very low chance of being called, and even if they are called they "just might" double up.
IMO the all-in strategy you are seeing can work for you, but you will have to be willing to stick to it for several tourneys. You can't give up on it after getting busted out 2 times in a row or it will never work.
