meh the only play I was upset with myself for was HU. And isnt that the point of large mtts, getting unusually lucky?

lol. i was being sarcastic, but theres absolutely no way you can run deep with a huge field without getting lucky, but obv our styles are alot different. I've been working on changing gears ALOT, and yes, referring to 152, and 194, ive seen craig open limping so many weak hands. I'll try to find time to go over all the other hands sometime

I edited my posts to bold the worst-played hands (and italicize the less poorly played hands). You're right that most of the other suggestions are smaller edges or stylistic differences.
As far as luck, sure you usually need a bit above average luck to final table in a 1000-man field, but that doesn't justify reckless play. I usually final table when I don't get unlucky (and not getting "unlucky" in 3 or 4 60/40s is actually pretty lucky).
Take for example hand 24. If the odds held and you lost that hand, you probably would not have made it very far in this tournament. The only probable hands you could beat on that flop were non heart A10 and AJ. You were a major dog to anything else he likely held.
And hands 27 and 52 were just giving chips away.
Aside from those three terrible hands, the only other truly awful plays came headsup. 143/149/179 were definitely questionable, but not in the same league as the bolded hands.
You also did make some unusually good laydowns too (hands that often break many micro players), so don't take it as all bad. But there is definitely room for improvement before you move up stakes.

Personally I think you need to slow play a bit more but who I am to judge best I've ever made in a large tourny was 3rd.
Still I learn a few things from that so thank you very much for posting it!!
Please if you make more I'd be interested in watching them.
Also you seemed to fold KT all the time even when there was no raises and you where ahead on chips, can I what your rationale is?Last edited by bluffwithoutcuase; 05-06-2008 at 04:03 AM.
