I am curious as to how you guys react in big hand vs. big hand scenario's. I have been bothered by this so much lately, that I have decided to to come to a forum to hopefully get some comparison data.
I typically play the 2/4 NL at FTP. I usually do quite well, however, lately I keep getting in these situations where I am holding top two or better, often a set, and have getting action from what can only be another big hand, or a big draw.
I guess my question is along the lines of - How do you guys normally go about a situation where you have a big hand and feel you are also up against another big hand?
Im not talking about the nuts. If you hit middle set and feel that your opponent has also hit a set, but know he would play bottom set the same as if he has hit top set...do you just pay these off or what?

make sure you understand your opponent has a range and not a particular hand, you can heavily weight the weight towards a particular type of hand due to the board texture/action but can rarely if ever pinpoint it.
in a vacuum dont ever fold a set on the flop if that's what you're trying to ask, or you've just been coolered set over set.

I always carefully analyze betting patterns especially if I have been playing against him for a while. If I can't see anything then I'll think back to my gut impression of if I was ahead at the start if yes then go all the way if not then fold.
