How should of i played this i was in a multi tourney with 850 entrance 5 hands in and i have 3500 in chips we started with 3000 im in the bb i have jj the blinds are 10-20 one limper in middle position and then a huge raise from the guy one off the button who has 2900. raises to 200. ten times the big blind? okay and then a call from the sb who has played every pot so far and im not worried him but what does the raiser have?im worried because it always seems like im against a bigger pair in this situation which i always seem to run into early on but should i just throw aways jacks? there so many possibilities as to what he could have he could have ak or a smaller pair 10s down to 7s if you had aa or kk would u raise 10 times the bb with only one limper?anyway i decide to raise because i figure if the flop come 10 high im gonna have a hard time folding so i raise to a 1000 total and the guy goess all in im not happy but i decide to call because he could go all in with all of the other hands i mentioned but he turns over kk.Is my thought process wrong should i have played differently?i realize this post is very sloppy and i apologize but any insight is appreciated ty

JJ is a strong hand and holds some value. With JJ I want to know where I am at with it pre flop. If there is a raise in front of me and then a re-raise I am folding most of the time. If there is one raiser I will re-raise him 3x-4x or so and if he just calls I will still continuation bet the flop unless he shows first aggression on the flop. But if he re-raises me pre flop I am going to fold most of the time. Basically you want to figure out where you are pre flop by how your opponents are betting and how they react to your bet or raise.

Believe it or Not I have had the same problem with QQ in the past and I solved it by being highly aggressive (if I can be the first allin I might Allin but I will definately call a big raise) or deciding not to play it and be discipled depending on the player. I may be to tight for some people but in tourneys I am here to win it not play cards I like. I play to win not play to play.
Remember sometime you make a good call and it turns out bad, this is ok becuase playing results poker i.e. "I won last time with 44 so I call a raise with it now" always leads to sloppy poker!
