Hey fellow poker players. How goes it?
I stumbled upon piv's post about 6 max. I was curious on everyones opinions on the advantages of 6 max vs full ring. For some reason 6 max seems like it would be more profitable. So I may switch to 6 max after studying up on the guide and reading your replys. Thanks!

I think a good 6max player will make more than an equally good full ring player but the swings will be bigger cos there's more action. I've always thought more fish would play 6max over fullring, but I could be wrong.
For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.
I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

Dave summed it up, 6-max has bigger swings but they're obviously concomitant with bigger profits.

Seems like more action junkys play 6max.
Lots of good rakeback options at http://www.rakeguard.com/?raf=KRE8R
KRE8R probably has about seventy college funds in his NL5 roll.

I think it's very beneficial to be good at both. full ring will inevitably have lower swings and a nitty style can be very very profitable (ie. wota), so if you're getting the bad end of the variance stick at 6max and can't stand it, it is very useful to be able to switch to a lower variance style at least until you get your confidence back. Likewise if you become an action junky while playing full ring, being able to jump into a juicy 6max game and pwn is worthwhile.

My preference is for full ring, having played both a lot. You're just going to have more dead money in a ring game. If you count the bankrolls on the table, before you sit down, there's more cash at the bigger table, usually. It's going to move around a bit, but in fairly predictable ways, and you can grab your share as it goes by.

I've played a lot of both and I generraly play 6max but switch to FR when the variance is getting me down and I want something slow and steady.
One thing peolpe forget is that while your winrate at 6max is higher you can play more tables at FR.
