vs. good players with fullstacks i open to 3.5x+1 per limper

if i am iso-raising a big donk i will usually just make it 4x+1 or even 4.5x+1

if there are some <60BB stacks behind me i make it 3x+1

if there is a pro shortstacker behind i will sometimes just make it 2.5x

isn't this fun

That book tilted me, so exploitable that strategy.

agree with davids two posts above...

i mainly vary it depending on how many handed, 5max from ep its 4x, sometimes 3.5 from lp if its a steal with crap. 5x sometimes with a premium because the fish don't notice. 3x if its heads up or 3 handed.

Then apparently you didnt finish it since late in the book he talks about exceptions, one of which is when you are playing against people who would observe your patterns.

in general, I play more like wota suggests, raising by poisiton. However, I think the game conditions and what has happened in front of you make more of a difference.

If no one is folding their blind to 3x raise whats the point unless you have a really good hand??? if you have 2 limper's who'll call a 6x raise why not raise 10x? If you have a calling station who sees every flop for 10bb or less raise it to 10x. if you have AA and everyone is folding to 5x raises but not 3x, and so on.

in which case why employ the strategy in the first place?

it's so stupid and would never work multitabling. "oh i've got a medium stacked loose guy here, a nit thats deep with me and a short stacker in the blinds. i'm gonna minraise with aces for the optimum stack-to-pot ratio"

I kind of glossed over this but if you want to do something to keep your opponents guessing it is important to truly randomise it. If you intend to raise between 3x and 6x totally at random it is almost certain your brain will favour certain raise sizes with certain and therefore you will be readable to observant opponents. Unless you are literally gonna roll a dice/go by seconds n your watch etc. to truly randomise it, this is not a good idea.
