even if they didnt have u covered with higher pair, with 2 players in and a wide range I really dont like JJ...unless u hit a set JJ is very weak in a 3 way pot..As for tilting my problem is I get sloppy when im ahead, I find 5-10 minutes of quiet comteplation on ur goals helps, also put stickies on ur comp screen reminding u to stay cool and play smart...sounds silly but it really works, just need to focus ur mind
gonna try this , stickits are a lot less expensive than a fist through the monitor
its amazing though , in the brick and mortar scene i can sit back on my chair and even laugh about it
i taught myself early in the game i never discuss hands , or could of beens and should of beens which you see players do constantly while in a game
you see them cringe in there chair , flail their arms and say things like " damm i should have played my 6 2 off " and they say this sometimes during the hand which i find amazing
but in these situations i use that to my advantage , hes in a bad way , feeling unlucky lets pick on him
i find it affects me so much more online and the defeatist attitude sinks in
ie " that was my hand it will never let me win now"
i do the same with bad beats , online they affect me way to much
i start playing way to weak , i know i do it but i cant seem to change it
on party this week i have been bundled out of 4 tornis mid way through with kk , all 4 times they where all in preflop vs lower pockets
all 4 times i called an all in vs a bigger stacker 1 on 1
all 4 times they hit the set on the turn or the river
im gonna need a tinfoil hat sooncause u start thinking its not random
besides the paranoid thoughts , im now cringing every time i get dealt kk or aa and thinking , well hows he going to beat me , not how am i going to make these pay off and thats a huge problem
i try and stay positive , a folder with screenies of wins or top 10 finishes to browse through , some notes on play etc
i think ill use one of the stickits to cover my hole cards and just bet like i got the nuts![]()

You did the right thing and it seems like you put an emphasis on getting a read on players which is good.
As far as tilting, try to take satisfaction in playing the hand correctly. If I fold to two higher pockets but I would have won, I focus on the fact that I made the right move at the time. You can't focus too much on what would've been, stand by your decision mentally.

You made the right Play!
Of Course in tournys you must take a lot of chance and win big pots on a draw. But in the situation that you presented that lay was correct even if you had the best hand. I understand that you caught trip on the turn, but your not supposed to hope for that on a show down preflop. Your thoughts on gambling in big pots can also lead you to busting out in many tournys (my opinion). To gamble in big pots make sure that your hand fits the flop and your all in with the best hand or a good hand (like top pair) with a monster draw. (once again this is my opinion)
