Hi, if there is a full house on the board (all 5 cards) and thats the best full house available, who wins the pot? Eg (real situation) I used full house of 8's full of 6's which were all community cards as my hand (Ace high was the best of my hole cards) Other opponent claimed the pot with full house 6's full of 8's and said this was better as the 6 was one of his 2 pocket cards. Everyone else at table agreed. Is this right and why as its not the best available hand?

No. best 5 cards no matter where they come from. If the boad is best hand, whoever is left at show down splits.
So buddy said his full house 66688 beat the board 88866? I try not to play with people who make the game up as they go."People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can't find them, they make them." - George Bernard Shaw

You both play the board.
Now if the board was 66688 you were playing the board and he had an 8 in his hand then yes he would have the better full house.
