3rd hand of a NLHE tourney. Blinds are .50/1, and I have $31. I'm in the blind and I look down at QQ. Guy in first position raises 2, another guy reraises to 6. I flat call, and so does the initial raiser. Flop come K92, with two spades(of which I have none). I check, and the initial raiser bets $10. The other guy waits awhile and folds, and I also fold. He shows TT, and says "Good thing you guys folded, I had a monster." I'm pretty sure I was way too passive, but I felt that for him to raise in first position he had either an ace or king, and I read him as beng strong after the flop. Of course, he wasn't THAT strong, but he obviously thought he was, so my read was right. So, tell me word for word how you play this.

first, i would have re-raised both of them before the flop...you want to get rid of the wanna be strong hands that just need the flop. as far as his bet after the flop, depends on situation. how i had been reading him, how the chip lead lays at the time, and how the night had gone. might have been worth the risk to call hoping that if he did have a king, that you get another Q. if he did have 2 spades, hope no more come out.
not necessarily a bad lay down. could easily be called a good lay down, but it was good bets by him. plus, you never know, he may have got a T on 4th or 5th street too.

The only thing you could do differently is to fire at the the pot, but with a raise and a reraise, and 18 plus, in the pot it is too expensive.

I disagree with the reraise, the only move is all-in. and I dont think you can do that yet.

Push it in before the flop. If you're reasoning to not push in is because you feel your opponent has Aces or Kings, fold. If you play QQ to see a flop after 2 raises and dodge an Ace or a King, you played fine. I say push it in before the flop. Many times you will have, not only the best hand, but a dominating hand.

I agree with alex. Your call preflop was not the move. You either raise to get more info and because you think you most likely have the best hand or you fold because you think one or both have kings or aces. I think you are about 7-1 to not hit your set and your pot odds were far from that. I think you either have to fold or move all in because any other kind of raise makes you pot commited anyway.
