This was on BetonSports Poker, so I couldn't throw it through BHC.
WHITEBUMPS had just lost an all in preflop calling with AToff. Seldom do I do this in a cash game, but what do you think. My read wasn't for a call from another player. I was just killing odds, looking to go heads up and see 5 cards. I was OOP, so it was raise big or fold, right? I don't like calling here, but many do. If so, why?

Edit: oh shit, it's AKs
I'd be fine either way in this situation, I like the raise here since I'm not a fan of playing AKs on say an Axx board
Reads on the others are either hands that you dominate (AQs) or lower pps, which doesn't effect your odds to win. Better to make the push preflop than to try to push when you hit A or K and they have to think about calling with an overcard on the board.Last edited by NoManner; 03-28-2005 at 11:41 AM.

You are getting enough on your money that you gotta call, and most likely no one has KK or AA now, so the push is probably good.
Man I hate cash NL.

I think it depends on how good the other players on the table are. If people are calling raises with crap that you dominate, then I wouldn't mind inviting them in.
If you think the tilter has a PP I like a call more because it only improves your odds, however if he is pushing with only high cards which you dominate, then I like a reraise more.
As for killing odds, the 14 dollar raise pretty much already did that. Anyone calling is only getting 2:1 which isnt very good vs ak. Actually, now that I look at stack sizes, the only one who could hurt you is the 200 stack with a PP. But calling 14 for a max of 115 is a very marginal call indeed.
