Default should i have pulled the trigger

here is a hand with a big pot from a 0.05/0.10 NLHE ring game,

i have been at the table for over an hour and have made some notes on some players. i have labelled the button as a weak player who has been making some very loose calls. the button plays around 7/9 hands.

the max buyin is $20, the button has over $35 in his stack mostly from when he called my allin with AKs on a J high flop when i had QQ. i have also been doing well and have over $40 in my stack.

    i am in BB with

3 players call (including the button), SB completes, i check.

    Flop is

SB checks, i make about a pot size bet 50c, button raises to $1,

i raise to $10 expecting him to call if he is behind (e.g. top pair) as i have been watching him make some ridiculous calls and hoping for a chance to bet into him with a good hand.

    he calls the $10

turn is i bet $10 thinking i am ahead and this card does not improve him he calls

river is this card does not improve him but i am now wondering what the hell he has to call 2 $10 bets. i become paraniod and check.

i feel i played the hand well (using my reads) untill the river. i am wondering if more 'balls' were required at this stage?

also i later realise that i should have ruled out KK as he would have raised pre flop (probably JJ aswell). the straight require him to hold QT or something, which is possible but unlikely.

What was the outcome of the hand?
Did he check on the river behind you?
If so, What did he have?

lol! yep... good question. I red the thread 3 times thinking I was missing the outcome part of it!!!

I think you should have pull the trigger considering you probably would have call an all in bet any way... so you can make JJ fold in this case. If you would'nt have call an all in bet, you did the right thing.

Button raises on flop, leading me to believe he's holding weak two pair (bottom two) or tp straight draw, I just can't see a raise from KK, JJ or QT which were the only hands that beat you. Considering that he didn't raise the $10 on the turn and the river couldn't have helped him in any way, I'd say go all in

he checked behind and then mucked so i do not know what he had??

he started saying stuff about how pocket pairs never win for him, i am now guessing he had a medium pocket pair, e.g. 88 or TT, or he could have been lying.

BTW i took the rest of his stack around 1/2 hr later limping with 55 in LP he had KJ flop was 5 K x rainbow, i raised to 5 with bottom set, he raised to 10, i push and he calls.

both the hands i had a good but not nut hand and was sweating as they are some of the bigest pots i have been involved in at this level
