I have noticed this getting pretty bad in myself recently where I will be constantly checking how I am doing during a session and if I see I am breaking even having previously been +$600 or so it does mentally affect me.
This is being results oriented and taking focus away from concentrating on making the correct play at all times which is what really matters.
As such I am going to make a pledge to no longer check either my Poker Tracker daily results screen or account balance during a session. Obviously I will still have a feel for whether I am winning or losing but t won't be concrete figures.
I suggest everyone else also tries this.

I have that bad habit too, and it probably really affects my game.

i buy-in for 25BB's at every table i sit at and if i have to rebuy, i always rebuy for an additional 25BB's so its always quite obvious whether im up or down just from a quick glance at the tables.......it would take a complete loss of arithmetic abilities for me not to know during a session whether im up or down.
i also always update my own Excel spreadsheet after every session so i am aware of my wins/losses on a daily basis.
obv when im losing, it DOES affect my play but as far as i can see theres absolutely nothing i can do to avoid knowing where i stand during a particular session. For the best rakeback rates, greatest choice of poker rooms, more promotions, tournaments and bigger $$$ freerolls than any other rakeback affiliate, visit RakeTheRake, one of the largest and most reputable poker rakeback affiliates in the world.

I do this far too much as well.
I'd love to stop it but tbh, I'll know when I'm up or down over a session and it'll still affect me in some way.For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.
I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

Yeah I do this too. I kinda always thought this affected my game negatively but never really concentrated on stopping. I really will try to do this in tonights session.
Lots of good rakeback options at http://www.rakeguard.com/?raf=KRE8R
KRE8R probably has about seventy college funds in his NL5 roll.
