Default Shorthanded final table in a rebuy MTT

    CL: 107k
    Me: 71k
Pro: 37k (very tough Vegas pro who I played a bit with the night before. In survial mode)
Tight Man (TM): 34k (in survival mode)
    Short Stack (SS): 10k

    Blinds: 1k/2k w/ 500 ante

Going into the final 7, I was 5th in chips and was really manufacturing chips well while staying out of trouble. The blinds were still good in proportion to the stacks as this was a rebuy with a lot of chips in play. Here's the estimated payout structure:

    1st: $6k
    2nd: $3.5k
    3rd: $2.7k
    4th: $2k
    5th: $1.4k

I'm picking up a lot of chips and added 40k+ to my stack showing down one hand calling someone else's all in thus far at the 10-handed final table. I'm on the button with and I had calmed down over the last orbit and a half where someone was knocked out by the CL.

    SS in SB.
    CL in BB.
    TM folds UTG.
Pro limps in the CO for 2k.
I raise it to 6.5k to take the pot.
    SS moves in for 9.3k
    CL smooth calls.
    Pro folds.
    I call the 2.8k (1.5BB)

It was only 2.8k to call and there was over 31k in the pot, so I had to call. I was looking at 2 guys who I didn't see as strong in the hole, so I had to figure that I was a 2:1 dog against their big cards. CL would've come over the top with AK, AQ, AA-66, I feel and the SS didn't wanna move in, but felt as if he had to, so he had A9 or worse, maybe KQ or KJ. No pairs.

    Flop [that I'll never forget]:

CL bets 10k to me. There's 41.5k in the pot. I have about 60k left in my stack. What do I do?

haha TOUGH decesion. I say go for first and go all in. If CL folds you come out even on the hand if he calls you are getting way more than the odds to catch. GO FOR FIRST! all in!

I'd say you probably have the best hand here but I really don't like straight out pushing in these situations, you're odds don't really change all that much when one of them leaves to pot since it's pretty likely that their sharing their odds unless they have two higher spades. I'd probably dick with this pot and min raise. Either CL folds and you're freerolling, calls and you're drawing with good odds to win (basically trying to save bets to prevent CL from betting out again on turn so you can get a free look at turn/river) or he pushes and you have good odds to call and probably win after a pot like that.

The texture of the flop was that if I had a 5 or 6, I was moving in based on my reads, but:
    • Does the CL have 55 or 66 with a good re-draw, if I hit the turn?
    • Does he have 2 higher spades?
    • Does he have the Ace or King of spades?
    • Does he have ?
    • What does he think that I have? I think he has AT at best, but I think he's raising or folding with AT PF. (Remember, Pro and myself were still to act after he called the SS's all in.)
    • I've hit a great flop for my hand. Is calling too weak, yet the safest move?
    • Is raising all in and being against a trap or a good, strong effort to win?

These were the added questions I asked as I did have to call TIME. The bet was so small that I was flabbergasted. Does that mean that I fold in confusion?

89 popped through my head right when I saw this but that doesnt seem right. I'm really not sure. Very interesting hand though.

I flat call this. Then Bet/raise on the turn if the straight hits, flat call if the Flush hits, and Check/fold if I miss. YEah thats passive, but you dont want to go out with the other guy too.

Hes got A6o, less likely ATo. IF he had a big draw (like or he would have checked, waiting to hit, and not trying to run you off) You got a guy all-in, if you got crap or the nuts / nut draw, you check (ok maybe not as much with the nuts). You are trying to knock out the other player first, then get chips second, ESPECIALLY with 5 to go. You have shown interest in the hand to start with (ok its a steal, but you did raise after a limp and call a raise ), he must give you credit for something. At worst hes got you on overs. HE doesnt want to lose this pot to you when there is plenty to be won now. The small bet is saying "please leave, I want this pot HU". I think hes making aplay for the chips in the pot, without commiting too much of his own. He's looking to release if he gets bumped here.

IT depends on his actions before. IF hes never made a small bet like this before... then warning bells. But if hes made similar bets, I may even push here. That may sound conflcting, but I like the aggression.

I'd like to hear a bit more feedback before I post the full details, so I'm gonna bump this once and wrap it up tomorrow.

I think that he's got the 10, possibly with a Jack or Queen.

If he's got two spades I say one of them was the Ace.

It could even be JQo or KQo if he thinks that you may have missed the flop completely

You couldn't have hoped for a much better flop, I think it's a push here as you have outs whatever he holds.

If you call, you are going to have to pay for the river whether you hit or miss.

If you reraise smaller, you are making it more likely he will call with a draw that may be to you disadvantage and reducing the chance of him folding Tx.

I think the push gives you the old 2 chances to win if he folds and if he calls.

If I had to guess his exact two cards I'd say QT (queen of spades)

I don't really think that there's a real answer as I've had a wide array of suggestions and rationale from friends. I just wanted to pick some people's brains a bit.
