Ok, as a test I took 6 dollars from ps and started to play 3 1/2 cent tables.
- I looked for 55% or higher flop
- I joined tables with 8 people or joined the waiting list
After a day of running sessions (like 4 hours) I was up to 19.00
Questions :
1) Limping with pairs and hoping for set -- What if the pf pot is raised? Do i fold ? Im referring to low pairs mostly. I typically fold on the flop If I didnt hit and its bet...
2) questionable hands in late position ? Ace jack off, K 10 OFF, 78 suited etc ? Do I play these in late position or fold?
I tried 4 tables but the action was way crazy.
Thanks in advance!

crazy is good...
Hi Hol,
I take it you're trying the anti-tilt thing ..
1] Limp in on these values to a level of no more than 10 cents.. BUT make sure the raiser has at least $1 in his stack
2] 78s is terrible in NL - its usually a fold. Axs is stronger .I think in limit the opposite is true. Effectively when you're holding strong, but not great hole cards, you have to have a strategy for playing them. i.e you have to play poker. The whole idea of the anti tilt game was to to win money, desensitise you to statistical fluctuations (hence the multi tables and the all-ins) and remove you from complicated betting patterns.
It's also about getting you to se how cards fall - you might be watching what other pplare doing rather than concentrating on you're own cards.. What are they calling with who responds most readily to all-ins etc?
If youre not using the anti tilt thing then ignore this
See me playing $10/$20NL like it was play money

Not really anti-tilt, just trying to make some money and learn some more structured poker play

Good job Holis, but after Flop entry %'s, my biggest tool in game selection is where the open seat is, to reduce overlap.

Lost 5 dollars after 3 hours of play

Lost some heartbreakers even though i played tight.
Lost to higher full house, higher flush and cointoss with a maniac.
Im still trying to grasp If aj off and other marginal hands are worthy of playing with 3 or more tables going.
I am also finding myself getting upset when fish call me with 86 off and get lucky, I need to work on keeping my mouth shut and staying focused.
Its so hard to fold a marginal hand when im in sb and can see a flop for 1 more cent, but Its getting easier...
Thank you all for the input.

# of tables should'nt affect if certain hands are worth playing.
Also a lot of hands should be completed for 1 more cent“There's no sense in being precise when you don't even know what you're talking about.” - John von Neumann

Holis, try the .05/.10 tables. SInce I bailed on PS a few months ago, my bank there was only like $2, and after buying 20% of Doc and a kickback from beavis, it was upto a whopping $8. Beavis has had a similar BR, but we have been muiltitabling the .05/.10 tables for a few weeks now. My bank is upto $45, thats 3700bb, Its stress free ABC poker. If you dont knopw limit yet, this will teach you. And Five tabling is a snap.
