Question HOH 2 bit I dont agree with

"If you have a draw to a big hand then a continuation bet could be a big mistake giving your opponent another chance to chase you out of the pot. More so if checked down to you. Free card with a drawing hand is likely to be better than making a continuation bet."

What if you don't hit that big hand? Why not take the pot there and then? I tend to do a continuation bet when I have a draw cause of the two options created by the bet: everyone folding to you, hitting that big hand. Wheres the only option with Haringtons strategy is hitting that big hand.

Do you agree with Harington here?

I know its not as clear cut as it sounds as there are other factors involved, but generally what would you do?

    Disclaimer: I've been drinking.

Obv Harrington is talking about tourneys but in cash I'd agree with that statement sometimes. If you raise pf with like and the flop is and your opponent checks to you, often checking behind is a good idea to take the free draw. Your hand can't stand a c/r so it's often nice to take the free card.

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

harrington just won like 1.4mill in a WPT a few weeks ago.

niko i agree w/ you. I like semi bluffing w/ draws b/c not only can you take down the pot, but if you get called you can also hit your outs. problem is you really put your stack in jeopardy playing this aggressive.
I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.

I'll usually bet the pot when its not too big. Otherwise I'll bet a bit less.

Hey I actually spotted you doing this on your recent video and been doing it more since

It's also heavily dependent on the board. If it's a kind of dry board like and you have 56, then I'm almost always cbetting it given the chance as you will take the pot the vast majority of the time.

If it's and you have AK then I like to take the free card as the board likely hits your opponents range and you're less likely to take it down with a cbet.

It also depends on how strong the draw is. I'm betting an OESFD hard where I may take the free card with a gutshot. Also, if my draw is to the nuts, I'm less likely to bet when the pot is multiway, but if it's a non-nut draw (Drawing to a J high flush, etc.) then I want to get some people out of the hand who may redraw out on me on the river (if I hit on the turn).
