You have 2 user names on Party?
I don't have a comment on the hand other than that guy was a clown to call your river raise."Ok, this is for the game. How you doin' over there? NOT TOO GOOD!"" -Bubble Boy

With only 3 people in the hand, I think I have to call, but I think a raise to $10 would've been more effective depending on the player. If the SB tends to make a lot of small bets and he's betting this low, he's gonna keep betting low and implied odds make it a good call for you if he has a Jack, TT, or nothing.
I'd have to ask myself, "Does he make this tester bet with 88, 66, and AQ?" If that's a yes, I'll raise. If that's a yes, but he won't laydown a weak Jack, 66, or AQ here, he won't lay down when you come over the top if you hit your 9 and he has a Jack or TT in the hole.
In full ring or even 7 handed, this is an automatic fold for me, but 3 handed is a different story.

I think he is an idiot for calling your pre-flop raise with j5. But i would have called the flop raise as well bcuz if he calls your raise, if he was a good player (which seeing what his hole cards were changes this), he would have called preflop with high wired pair AK, AQ, AJ, maybe A10, lower wired pair. I defenitely would have called to see another card.

I'd fold, putting him on the Jack (admittedly with a better kicker than 5, KJish)
Trouble with a call on the flop is that you're on the back foot and probably going to have to pair more to see a showdown. The only other option is to raise if you think you're 99 is good.
Good result for you on the turn though.
The quandry of middle pairs.
