Default You can only bluff smart people

Bluffing seems very ineffective in micro stake and play money games. if any1 has as much as low pair or even just 1 overcard, they will call a bluff.... even big 1!!!!!!. biggest game ive ever done was 25 buy in and there bluffing was MUCH more effective, but this is kinda obvious that people gonna play more carefully when more money at stake. What pisses me off is that I have to play a str8 game and rarely bluff in my low/micro stake games.

Yup.. but even at 25NL you can't/shouldn't bluff people. Hell, even at NL200 people will still not give you credit half the time... things start to change at around NL400 though.

You can bluff at micro-stakes poker, but only if you have a read on the player you are bluffing. It still isn't something that can be done with any regularity, but once in a while, it can be effective.

While I'd like to agree, you have to admit that people will call even if they know they are beat. I mean... you see it all the time. With that in mind, I think it's a poor decision to bluff. And the same looseness will also allow you to milk more from people when you do have a hand so I think it pays not to bluff...

All valid points, Kid. My only point was that I had to have a strong read that the player I'm bluffing actually has a fold button and knows how to use it.

I think you can bluff anyone with less than 30% went to showdown(Poker tracker) But at micro stakes they will still call because of big pot.

You can't bluff players that don't understand the texture of the board and their strength of hand relating to that board. I would say try not to bluff much at all until $200NL. Every other level is donksville calling station mania.

It's player dependent not level dependent.
Even when I play the $5NL games to donk about there are players who play stats like 14/8/2 at a 6 max game, can see I am playing 60/50 but still continually call my raises to check-fold any flop they miss.
On the converse sbrugby is a good player but see how much respect he gives you if you keep firing away at him.

You don't especially want to bluff smart people, you want to bluff weak-tight people and there are more of these around the NL100 level than the NL1000 level.

oh look, wota is spot-on again. bottom line is that there are different kinds of bad players, and they're loosely grouped into two categories: people who call too much and people who fold too much. bluff the latter, not the former.

You can bluff in micro-limits. You just have to do it backwards-backwards.

Say two opponents limp in, and based on their patterns you know this means they don't have any high cards. Two Aces flop. If you hesitate, then bet the smallest amount possible, your opponents will almost always fold. (Try it). You can even say something like, "wtf.. why doesnt ne one call me" so they think you're 13 years old.
