does any1 else do this. Whem im close to placing in a tournament and im shortstacked I will try to stall by letting timer run and not making a move until a sitout is forced. Sometimes when im in larger Buyin tournys, id do if i have get a very big lead but still far from placing. it tends to piss people off but w/e.

You mean when you're about to make the money or move up in tiers? That's why hand-for-hand was implemented... and if you mean before hand-for-hand, you're only hurting yourself see more hands.
I hate when people do this, it serves absolutely no purpose. Anyhow, you shouldn't let yourself get that shortstacked where you're so deperate to do that.. need to push all your chips in earlier.

In a $3 rebuy I played once. There was a guy who started doing this with like 900 left when the bubble was at around 550!!!! He really slowed down the play and everyone at the table was abusing him constantly. Such an asshole.

This is a good way to put people on Tilt, They are more likely to call your all in just to knock you out and speed up the game.

You don't understand. Again, hand-for-hand will take effect. And even if it wasn't, it's a poor decision. Are you playing the tourney for just make your buy-in back, or are you playing to win?
You're not going to make much money from tournaments unless you place in the upper echelon of tiers... and nothing decent until the final table. Even then, the real money is usually in the top 3.

It's strategically a bad move to stall like this when you are short-stacked. The blinds will go up much faster (i.e. there will be a lot fewer hands before the blinds go up) and so you'll be forced to go all in (or else blind out) much earlier than otherwise. If you are very near getting near an important money tier then it could be an okay move although it would hurt your chances of getting into an even higher tier which could be where the real money is. And that's of course assuming that the tourney isn't hand-to-hand as indicated earlier where each table waits until the other tables are completed with that hand before going on to the next hand.

im talking b4 hand for hand is in affect, and when u r in a rebuy gurantee tourney u only spent 3 to get in and placing is 25 thats pretty good. I rather get that 25 if it looks like i wont be able to go far anyway. Go all in and risking losing for what, chance ill get, the 31 dollar prize?, when i get 25 dollars 4 free. that is a lot more than just getting ur money back. thats the logic behind stalling near placing but b4 hand to hand. its not a poor decision if ur short stacked, but have just enough to make it
