It happens at all levels, you get people so retarded that it folds round to them on the button and they limp in! What the fuck? It's such a bullshit play, raise or fold mofo!
A possible leak in my game is that I don't punish these guys enough, in fact I'm probably only raising them with a range very similar to my EP raising range.
I always figure that if they are fishy enough to limp then they are going to call the raise and then we are out of position. Of course I can out play these idiots though so I feel I should be raising more.
My question is what range do you raise with when you have persistent open limpers on the button:
a) out of the sb with a loose bb
b) out of the sb with a tight bb
c) out of the bb with the sb completing
d) out of the bb with the sb folding?
Please discuss!

I raise them pretty rarely.
Maybe 88+, KQ, AJ+ or something like that.
As you say they are usually calling a raise, they are calling with any piece of flop so we want to play them with our hands for value.
A hand like 67s is too often going to miss the flop and end up showing down and losing to A high which the guy called our cbet with.Best Current Ongame Deal.

a + b:
Assuming 6max, I'm raising pretty much my UTG range, maybe chucking in a few other hands like ATo/KQo etc. depending on how donkish they are.
c + d:
Probably my MP range. Not too keen on going with SC's for the reasons wota says and I'm liking to play these hands in position for the most part.
EDIT: I'd take out 77 and below from these ranges though.Last edited by davidab157; 08-18-2007 at 04:17 PM.
For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.
I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

I actually wouldn't play Jharding HU4Rollz anymore. His roll is too big.
I'd happily pwn him at microstakes of $100NL though
