    Default check raise bluffing

when i moved up to 1-2 i have noticed the technical play increased substantially . im mainly seeing the check raise bluff.
im pretty good at double barreling when the flop/turn look dry, but im still trying to get this checkraise bluff down.
    my questions are:
what boards are optimal to preform this move?
what hands should i be doing this with?
what your opinion is on this play and if its +ev in the long run? (assuming you use the play in correct spots)
ill post HH's when trying the play, and hopefully some of you can pick it the fuck apart.
    AsuitedKing: justify the call
EhRa: he hits his set und waited that i hitz something and he dindt play he only goes allin
EhRa: tahts a big donk ... so ****

It's definitely something you should have in your arsenal. If you check-raise with a big hand then you should occasionally do it with a semi bluff or even complete air. Just make sure you do it against someone who is fairly solid and has a fold button.

Boards? Basically a board that your opponent will believe has hit your range. I'd tend to go for a dry flop like . Your opponent (assuming a solid TAG) will have a big range to cbet here and imo it's a good spot for a c/r bluff. Just don't do it too often (like once a session maybe).

Hands? Any really. Probably best to have at least some outs though. Flush/straight draws, mid pairs, overcards, whatever. If you pick your spot the cards shouldn't really matter.

+ev? Definitely if you do it right.

EDIT: I'd only really go for it if I'm HU with the villain.

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

I honestly feel that increasing my frequency of check-raise bluffing LAG players on the flop has added approx 2bb/100 to my win rate over the past 60k hands.

HU is definately the best if not only time to try this. I know the question was regarding cash, but I do this often in tourneys, especially late in an MTT, often from the BB. When it folds around to CO or button who is at least slightly aggressive and they rasie. I'll call from the BB, wait like 6 second before checking, get a cbet and then insta-3bet - seams to work almost every time if you're a bit carefull of what kind of player/flop you do it against.

One thing I've seen some pros do (on TV!) is to call a bet with nothing on a flop which has something like 5 and 6 of hearts and then if the turn comes up with a 4, a 7, or a heart do a check-raise to make the opponent think you were chasing and then hitting a straight or flush. If something else comes up (and he doesn't check allowing you to try the same thing on the river and if you didn't actually hit something good for your hand) then you're out the amount you called for but it can be worth it.

I'll do it on dryish boards that probably missed my opponents range. Say CO raises and I call in SB with 44. I'd c/r him on a flop like J75 rainbow.

Another point worth mentioning is that if you have check raised a monster earlier in the session then it is more likely to be successful.

Agree but I dont think this will be noticed by more then half the table in stakes lower then Nl100, most people dont pay attention surf web, multi table ect, and on online people come in and out of tables so quickly especially at lower stakes.
