I had pocket jacks on the button(or right of the button). Guy in 2nd position raises 2BB, then the guy to my right raises 10BB. I fold my pocket jacks thinking I'm behind at this point. Is this the right play? This is in a tourney when we're down to 50, and 27 pay. Calling the bet would pretty much put me all-in.
.....the guy in 2nd position called to the river.....he had A6....the other guy had AQ. I would have won.

Folding's your "best bet." The raise is clearly an isloation raise, not a value raise, but against 2 people giving that much action, you're up against 2, if not 3 over cards, and possibly an overpair.
Calling sounds good because you've got the 4th or 5th best hand in Hold 'em, but worse hands (AK, AQ, KQ, AJ) can beat you too many times to justify a call with 2 people in front of you. If the roles are reversed, though, and you're facing 2BB with JJ and only one person in the pot, I'd like a re-raise to 5 or 6 BBs to isolate.

I think calling is the right answer here, disagreeing with Alex. You have 10bb's or so. You know this guy is a wacko (or should) since he has probably made similar crazy plays in the past. JJ is probably a good hand here to play. Your ona short stack, you are not going to make the money by folding, and you are definatly not making the final by folding.
Now if you had 20bb's, folding is clearly the best move, since you will still have plenty of hands to pick up a good one in a more favorable situatiion, for the reasons Alex listed above.Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

I said that that's the best answer for the reasons that I stated, but there's so much time left... I would have to KNOW that I'll go HU by moving in to call. Otherwise, calling here with 78s isn't drastically worse. All in or fold. More times than not, I'm folding. If 27 are paying out and 50 are left, people are dropping like flies right now.

agree with the fold
I agree with the fold in this situation depending on your stack size. Pocket Jacks are like Queens and 10's...They look better than they really are. If there is one caller I stay...If two call then you need to fold out and wait for another opportunity. However, if you are on a short stack then you really have no choice but to take the chance to triple up as this may be the best hand you see.

Depends on chip position and past history, but I'd probably push.. definitely if one of us was shortstacked.. but again.. it depends on chip position.

Maybe, I wont really disagree, cause thats usually true... But as we all know, MTT's run in cycles, they drop like flies, the big stacks get bigger, and then they coast for a bit, and then the drop again. This may have abeen a coasting period. Maybe.

Average stack was 30,000+. Blinds were 1000/2000. I had 29,000. So the bet to me was 26,000. The guy who raised 10BB was the chip leader at our table by far. He had 150,000+.
