One of the very few interesting AA hands I've ever had. What do you think?
20/40 Hold Em, An unknown MP player (he's been here for 3 hands) limps in from MP (WEAK, WEAK, WEAK!!!! but like I said he is unknown) and the incredibly loose guy on my right limps to.
I look down at![]()
on the button and raise. both blinds fold and both limpers call.
the flop is![]()

, the first guy takes about 2 seconds too long to check and the loose player checks quick. What to do??
OK I know the loose player will call me down heads up if the other guy folds so slowplaying would probably give my hand away more than betting and pretty much guaranteed action, so I made up my mind before it got to me to bet.
now the MP player calls real quick (I'm pretty sure he has a ten) and the loose player agonizes over it and folds his hand (he must have had a runner runner straight or flush)
the turn isand once again the MP checks, but this time he check raises me. I just call.
river is a dud and the MP player bets into me, I raise, he re-raises, and I re-raise again and again before he stops (idiot), he has ......... drumroll....... QT
since I bet out on the flop he thought I had AK or AQ, I think if I check the flop I get less action on the end. Sometimes slowplaying a monster is not the best way to maximize value. Although I did slowplay the turn which really threw him off. I would have bet out if I was first to act on the flop to, because of the sheriff in the hand.
A player in the game who I play with often said he had no Idea what i had, which is good because i can usually tell him exactly what he has and vice versa.

even if he doesn't have a Ten and folds the other guy would have called. The loose player just refused to let anyone win uncontested, he would have called me down heads up with Jack high.
this was more the reason i bet the flop, once the other guy called and the way he did it, I buckled myself in and prepared to reel in a big fish.Read my musings on poker and life at Online Poker Examiner, Poker Examiner, PokerNewsBoy.com, and My Poker Blog

you got in an extra small bet on the flop this time, but when he doesnt have a ten you dont get any action from someone who catches up/bluffs. he is going to give you action either way with the 4th nuts.
it's better to be pissed off than pissed on
