Am I a Donkey??
I have been playing a few tourney's online lately and have been copping a fair amount of taunting from players that I bust.
THis one guy called me a fish and said "I cant believe you called". I had 5-5 on the dealer. Board of J 10 8 4 6. I called an all in on the river and one with pocket Fives. Sole opponent was raising each betting round an I was calling. I put him on AKs and was right.
He went all in on river and I went to tank for a while and called and won. Why should i be called a fish for trusting my read.
Another time in a HU tourney Facing a raise of 4 x big blind, I went all in with A10s. other guy had AKs. I win with runner runner diamonds for a flush, and he went mental. Was that a bad move to go all in HU facing that raise?
I thought it was the correct descision.
I think the real donkeys are people who think that AKs will hold up EVERY hand.
When I have AKs I put a raise of 3x BB- Pre Flop. If I dont hit the flop I usually bail out. Is that weak??

Welcome to the forums.
Do you play on UB under the same screen-name? I'm sure I recognise it from my cash games..
As for bein a donk, the 5's is by no means standard but if you had a read, fair play. We'd really need to know stack sizes though to analyse properly, especially with the AT hand.

OK Next time i will put all the relevant info ie stack sizes etc. I play on Pokerstars and my screen name is Penguin4560. I am just starting to play for real money. I havent had much of a run lately. My best result (most money won in a tourney) was a $10.00 556 Player Tourney and I came 4th. Doesent show in my sharkscope though...

Hello my snazzy named friend
most players that u bust or beat in a pot at smaller buy-ins will tend to call u one name or another.....for example, if we played and u busted me, depending on my mood, id prob call u a not-so-nice name or 10 (not for the next 4 months tho )
calling with 55 is hellmuthesque while pushing with ATs in a hu sng is standard(for me)
best thing for u to do is post hands ur unsure of, whether u win or lose them and try to learn from responses u get.

These people who berate you are clearly not very good themselves. If I was playing with you online and you hit some ridiculous suckout by playing badly you would never know what I thought of your play.
The 5s call seems pretty bad to be honest. What made you think he had AK?
If it was the size of his preflop raise, combined with beting/timing tells on the flop/turn and perhaps previous play leading you to believe he wouldn't bet for value with a hand weaker than a set on the river then it can be a good call.
If you said when he raised - I put him on Ak now and will call down unless an A or K comes on board then you probably got lucky.
Reraising ATs all in in a HU match with shallow stacks is incredibly standard, your opponent in this instance is an idiot.
