Heads up vs 1 table sng
I have a decent heads up game. Actually, I think I'm not bad at all at it.
Played a few heads up game and won 6/7. Just to check it out. I know it's low stakes (building bank roll back), but won a 2$ heads up, 2, 5$ heads up games, 2 , 6$ heads up and a 5$ heads up shootout 4 players. Finished 2nd in anothor shootout, but only first place pays. The level of competition seems pretty weak, so free money.
When you play for example a 6.60 sng 6 handed, top 2 pays. 2nd pays double buy in only. I guess it's harder to finish 2nd in a 6 handed table than finish 1rst in a heads up game (less players).
9 table sng, if you finish 3rd, you get barely a little more than your money. a 5$ sng = 8$ finishing 3rd. 2nd place is a bit more than double buying. Basically, if you don't finish first in a sng, you don't get a lot of money.
Is it not better than to just play heads up since you have more "chances" of winning and faster. A sng is min 1 hour to an 1 1/2. A heads up match, in 30 min, it's over unless you play a shootout, depending the number of players.
I don't want to quit playing full table games, but mathematically, don't you have more chances of winning money, faster than playing sng's ?
I won't quit sng's and maybe I'm talking because I'm on a streak, but, it seems like playing heads ups, you have a faster pace, you have a better chance of winning (one opponent vs 6 or 9), about same money if you finish 3rd or 2nd in a sng and, whatever online cheating methods there are, you can't cheat in a heads up game.
Just want to get your take on this.

The problem with head up is that you have to win over 50% just to break even, as the rake kills you. At the lower stakes games this is easily achievable but if you go on a bad run you can end up having won more games than you lost, but still have lost money.
Heads-up wins also rely more on luck than winning a regular sit n go, so variance could be killer. Personally I feel more of a sense of accomplishment winning a STT than winning a head-up match.

Played a 32 people shootout, finished 2nd (5$ buy in) so won 32$ and played another sng 5$ after, won sssssssoooooooooooooo easely, it seemed the other person wanted to lose and that is, he had a lucky draw on me on top of that. So I basically beat him twice.
Excellent way to build a bankroll if your heads up game is good.

played 2 more games, one 5$ again, 2 people : won. And then shootout again, 4 people, finished first
guys, free money. Play it, it's very soft the competition. Build your bankroll playing 5$ HU games shootout, 4 people. You will make 20$an hour. (15 profit)
And just for the sake, I played a 2$ game (cuz this hot streak has to end right?) won in 5 mins.

My experience with heads up sng is both players play good but the deciding / winning hand is always a 50-50 for me so I think its ok to play sng heads up but I like full ring sng better.
I played around 10 $2 heads up won 5 and of which I won 3 in just the first hand. Its pure chance..

personally, i love the $5 and $11 hu SNGs on Stars
the players are unbelievably poor and u can clear one in 10-15 mins max.
if ur even fairly competent at hu, these are a great way of increasing a bankroll.

God this is so true... I've never though players would be so poor HU. It's like most of them just want to you to take their money ! Considering that 5$ sng are much thouger to beat now than when I started, I though it would be similar heads up, but god they are poor.
The games I played, I beat the opponent by dominating him, slowly taking his chips and a lead. Nothing of an all in race in most cases. I think it happended once, but the rest of time, it was good play on my part. Good bluffs, good calls, good folds.
For all those needing to built confidence and bankroll, seriously, play the shootout 4 players, 5$ buy in. You just need to win 2 games to make a 15$ profit, and it should not last more than 1 hour MAXIMUM unless you really suck HU.
