Ok, so, i'm Mr break even. It pisses me off so bad. I play awesome then fk it all up in 1 bad session.
So I decided. I would get good at cash. No tournaments, just cash.
Some of you may have read my previous attempts at full ring that went bad. That's another story. So I grinded out 50k hands at $50NL 5 max at ongame network.
I also received HH advice from Wota who has been a massive help to me over the past few months. Anyways, to the point.
This month I started playing half stacked the level up from mine which is $100 NL. There are several reasons for this. If you play half stacked, you can play a level that you don't have a BR for. In my case $1500 was a full 30 BI BR for $50NL. So can also be used as a 30 Half BI roll for $100 NL.
Make sense so far? So why would this be better? Reason 1, twice as much bonus. I make $16 p/h 4 tabling $50NL and obv $32 p/h at the equivalent $100NL with same money at the table.
Half stacks also have the advantage for several reasons. Your opponents are pot committed far more easily. People tend to call you down or put you all in much lighter than usual. You don't have set odds very often so you save money not chasing mid pairs.
If you want more info on this tactic, read sklanskys NLHE Theory and Practice. It has a full section on it. Below are my stats for this month. All the $100NL and $200NL is half stacked. At the bonus and level i am playing my BR will double every 1 month or so.
Good luck at the tables and try some half stacked cash. I highly recommend it. Remember to tighten your starting hands in all positions.
I will produce a video next month demonstrating how its done.
