I just got back into O8b, I have been trying to curtail some of my fishy tendancies, but know I feel like I may be playing to tightly pre and post flop for the extremely loose games on party poker.
I have been folding weaker A3 hands that I used to play (and I thought profitably), and folding on the flop when I dont hit a nut low draw. But now it seems like I am leaving money on the table.
The players are ridiculously bad. Drawing to belly-busteds and 9-high flushes with a MADE low on the board, regardless of pot size. A lot of people on the flop doesn't indicate any kind of strenght, nor does betting, as there is one person at almost every table that sees over 80% of the flops and bets most of them.
Let me give you an example of a hand I folded, and lets say there were 6 people in the pot.
I have A25x The flop come A 4 x (cant remember if a low flopped), there is one bet to me, and I folded for the single bet, the low went to someone play 3-6 for the low. This kind of thing happened several times during the night and cost me 7-8BBs in about 80 hands of play.
I am not sure if chasing these 2nd nuts is a winner on these extremely loose tables or not. Anyone else?

Crushing Small Stakes O8b

for a single bet against 3 or more opponents I would always call with second nut low draw, inside straight draw and top pair.I have A25x The flop come A 4 x (cant remember if a low flopped), there is one bet to me, and I folded for the single bet, the low went to someone play 3-6 for the low. This kind of thing happened several times during the night and cost me 7-8BBs in about 80 hands of play.
the second nut low draws you want to consider folding are
you have A3xx and the flop is 78K, or you have A24x and the flop is 27T. in these cases you have no high potential and it is very likely someone would play an A2 in example 1 and an A3 in example 2.
if you have A35X and the flop is A29 someone would need tp have played a shit 34 to have you or have an A34 type hand, it is more likely your second nut low draw is good here that when an A2 or A3 beats you NOONE folds these in low limit games.
for me to play an A3 it has to have at least 1 of the followingI have been folding weaker A3 hands that I used to play (and I thought profitably), and folding on the flop when I dont hit a nut low draw. But now it seems like I am leaving money on the table.
1) a suited Ace
2) another wheel card
3) 2 broadway cards
in multiway unraised pots I'll add
4) a pair of 6s-8s
5) a broadway card and a 6
6) a suited Jack, Queen, or King
remeber if the board is 567TK your A3 will be the single best low only 30% of the time. there is a 50% chance there is an A2 and if there isn't there is 40% chance there is another A3.Read my musings on poker and life at Online Poker Examiner, Poker Examiner, PokerNewsBoy.com, and My Poker Blog

GOOD FOLD....
Take it from an O8b champ... folding there with A25x was a wisw choice in the long run....if yo uare playing online I CAN GUARANTEE THAT AGAINST 6 other players you dont need to bluff, you CAN wait for the NUTS and when you get them you can bet it hard and you WILL GET CALLERS!!! TRY IT!
