Didn't want to bet too much more as to give my hand away and that and I figured that if he did have a over pair or set he'd re-raise my ass and I could go all-in. Going back to above, in hind-sight I probably could have won a bigger pot had I checked the turn, him figuring I was bluffing.)

KK? The way he played that really confuses me...he must have really thought I had AA and gone into check calling mode. I was truely ready to dump this at the first sign of any strenght of this magnitude. What do you guys think? Dumb luck..or aggressive play paying off?

Too agg-re-ssive?
Bean181818: some guy came up just grabbed my hand and starting massaging it, since it wasn't you, i told him to fuck off
xcrunman02: yeah only I can do that, i don't need some gook trying to get with my life partner
Bean181818: i've been faithful
xcrunman02: me too
Bean181818: peck tried to get all this but i told him this was all taken, all of it!

Pre-flop: Kind of a fishy raise, and I don't really like being heads up with 99, so I'm folding. Maybe a bit weak, but oh well.
Flop: I like that raise there.
Turn: Bet bigger on the turn, after another check by him, I would bet $5. Who knows, he may have 88, and you are in great shape. If he does have TT or JJ, you might be able to get him to fold.
River: Bet bigger again. He's not going to put you on 99 there. Put out another $5.

Preflop: looks ok, you're in position, if he's not super tight its fine.
Flop: looks good, you gain a lot of info here, AK is most likely folding or folding to a real bet on the turn at least.
Turn: This isn't go fish, make a real play at the pot or check and check call the river if you scared
River: You figure he is goign to check/raise the river with overpair or a set? Well we sort of know he doens't have a set, but an overpair is very likely. I'm leading out like 10 or maybe pushing if my image is perfect. I think AA-QQ calls here from most players.“There's no sense in being precise when you don't even know what you're talking about.” - John von Neumann

Yeah, my play on the turn/river was probably a little weak. On the river I guess I just wanted to make sure I got a call and a little bit of a pay-off.

the weak bet on the turn gave away your weakness, especially after the big reraise on the flop. you could have bet a lot more on the river since you did catch, at least $8 i'd guess even if the guy played pretty tight, and he'd have thought he had the pot and you were trying to push him out. there's no way he could have thought you'd caught a set of nines, and the reraise at the start assured him that your cards weren't too low.
