Here's the scenario:
Live $1/$2 no limit hold' em, most of the table are semi-tight/passive types. There are 2 empty seats one to the immediate left and one to the immediate right of a loose aggro, which one do you take and why?

i know theres a certain answer,, but if you take the seat to the right just check into him when you hits any big hands.. Personally i'd want to be on his left cause he'll bet into me with my big hands and he'll have to act first before me.
stop worrying so much and just let go.

Isn't this 101 on seat selection that you want tight, passive players to your left and loose, aggressive players to your right?
There has to be a classic Steve-O explanation coming right?
But at a live $1/$2 game I challenge anyone to find a table filled with tight, passive players. Most are at least loose, if not aggressive.

The answer to this question is more preference than anything else. However, I'm shocked at the lack of reasoning why everyone wants to be on the left.
Personally, I prefer to the right. The main reason is to limp re-raise pre-flop, especially if you're short-stacked. Let the aggro bet it up for you and watch the tight passives call him because of his image. Then you can come over the top creating one of the following scenarios:
1) a heads up pot against the aggro with dead money in the pot
2) win uncontested
3) a big 3 or 4 way pot
Another reason I like the right is for post-flop play, especially when you're deep stacked. By calling pre-flop you can get incolved in good sized pots that will definetly see more action. At the same time you can invoke the check-raise strategy to get the aggro to bet and keep the other players stuck in the middle.
I think the seat selection 101 is more for limit poker where you almost need to 3 bet to isolate a playerRead my musings on poker and life at Online Poker Examiner, Poker Examiner, PokerNewsBoy.com, and My Poker Blog

Depends how loose aggro he is and how well he plays as well as how well the rest of the table play.
If he is a really solid LAG player I would try to join another game but if I was forced to choose I would then sit on his right and have position on the tight passive players.
If he is maniacal LAG I would rather have position on him since he is where my money will be coming from.
