Default Shalesey, The Story so far.......

Ok guys, you probably haven't been wondering where I have been over the last few months.

But for those of you who do care I have a little story of what I have been doing. Both life wise and poker wise.

I moved in with my girlfriend which took quite a lot of my BR out of play and limited my poker time.

But I have been busy. I made a decision regarding my BR and the games I play. I decided if I am going to build a monstor BR, I will need to learn how to be profitable at cash games. I have tried this briefly before and failed miserably.

So my story begins a few months ago with $300 and some Full Tilt bonuses. I started playing full ring under rolled. Playing 4 tables of $25NL max. After 10,000 hands I had played from 25/10 right down to 16/10. I was also break even with bonus and frustrated.

I moved up to $50NL max after I bumped my BR up to $900 with a bonus from work. I got absolutely pounded at this level and went to wota for advice. I think his advice was, Full Tilt $50NL max is cardrunners play ground and probably toughest $50NL on the net, go play at a smaller site you gay.

So I did, I moved to Ongame. Specifically Tower and Red Kings. I played 10,000 hands at full ring. Break even. Doh!!!

So I watched TAs 6 max WPX videos again. I loved his style. I loved the appeal of 6 max.

So that's what I did. I played 15,000 hands of 6 and 5 max. Break even. Doh!!!

But I learned. I adapted. I improved. I worked out how to spot the donks and position them for felting. I worked out Fridays and Saturdays are looser so I need to tighten up.

So I started a new Database. I set a goal of hitting $100NL max in 3 months once my BR is $3000. Early signs are looking good. Below is my graph from bank holiday Monday with 2 hours warm up at $25NL max and 5 hours at $50NL max. Also is the stats of my new DB so far. So I think i'm getting there. I'm finally making a profit. I've cleared $250 so far, plus my stats and I have another $1000 bonus pending to be released in the next 60 days.

What did you suddenly change to turn from a break even player to 14bb/100? I can't see anything wrong with that graph :P

I just realised that's $70/hour, perhaps more if you didn't play the 25nl warmup. That's insane...

Damn I'm still pressing the quick reply button

Looking good shalesey. Are you getting rakeback? It'll add like $75 to those stats so if not it's something to go with.

Obv sample size is small so take this advice with a pinch of salt but your Agg Factor looks a bit low, especially on the turn. Maybe you're giving up too many hands too early or something. I'm aiming for my total Agg to be >3, I think at the low stakes high aggression pays off very well.
For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

My bonus is about 50% RB. I played with AF. Fact is at 5 max. You can't bet turn with air as most donks have at least a pair to call the flop and they never fold, EVER!!! It's better to keep pushing and backing off, then stacking them when you make a hand.

I have the same winrate at NL50. My sample size however is also small with 8k hands, so it might not mean much. I suppose at that level 10bb100 or so is sustainable in the long run though.

Believe it or not I DID wonder where you went Shalesey. Congrats on the new success. Hopefully it continues for you. I wish I could get onto the Ongame network....
Lots of good rakeback options at http://www.rakeguard.com/?raf=KRE8R

KRE8R probably has about seventy college funds in his NL5 roll.
