I read this on 2+2 forums, posted by Sklansky as a "trickier sng question". Most of the replies say call, and although there are a hell of alot of good players on that forum I completely disagree, I'm all-in every time here. What do you guys think? Surely a good player is having many more 4th places than 3rds (due to limping to the money like a pussy).
I'm obv assuming this is the bubble in a 9man sng.
"Four good players left. Two have large stacks. 300-600 blinds. Big blind has 100 behind him (700 total). UTG folds. You are on button with 1100 and have KJ offsuit. Call, raise or fold?"

Id just push it. Chances are KJ is the best hand here and BB is all in anyway so whats the point in calling? If the SB gets involved which you obv dont want youre allready pot commited if youve called.

easy fold if sb has large stack and is good, he is calling almost any 2 here. bb is obv going along for the ride. i dont like putting in our last chips with kjs here in a 3 way pot

If you want to win, I think you have to push here.

I understand the theory that if we want to desperately cash we can fold, the sb will put the bb in and if he folds he's forced in blind next hand. Problem is the bubble isn't about limping to the money imo, it's the time to get aggressive and try to win it IMO.
Maybe my theory is wrong, I dunno. But even so, isn't calling the worst option here?
And btw, this thread started some HUGE arguments on that forum, those guys can be meeeaaann to eachother

im folding here as sb has a big stack and is a decent player so hes gonna call anything at all.
its not all about winning it when ur on the bubble and its not about limping to the money like a pussy.....u got one more round in u at this stage so no matter what ur natural instinct is, u should be in the "act like a pussy" stage to get itm........u get nothing for being knocked out on the bubble and once ur itm, u waken up trying to win it.
im no SNG expert but imho, u win them by building a big stack in the early-mid stages when the donks are throwing their chips around with nothing and then using that big stack well OR if u have a small stack, once u get itm and u get a few lucky/good double ups.For the best rakeback rates, greatest choice of poker rooms, more promotions, tournaments and bigger $$$ freerolls than any other rakeback affiliate, visit RakeTheRake, one of the largest and most reputable poker rakeback affiliates in the world.

Ok maybe saying limping like a pussy was a bit strong

I suppose this does come down to how much the payout is, winning $17.50 or whatever in the $11 sng's doesn't make me all that likely to sneak into the cash. For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.
