I have been playing poker for about 5 years now, pretty seriously, and I am finally hitting the big 21, and am going on a trip to reno on April 2-4 for my birthday, I have played in many different styles of game from online for big cash, or tournies, or huge home games, but I am kind of nervous on what to expect in Reno, has anyone been there before? Any suggestions on casino's? We are staying at the Silver Legacy because my step-dad knows the owners so I will be there mostly unless you guys tell me a better place, but I am extremely excited, but any advice, on casino's, tables, or play would be highly appreciated, so far I have heard there are many chasers in all the limit games but want to know more. thanks guys

What stakes do you play online? Expect a response here from Alex or Steve-O as they have good experience in casino's.

You mentioned that you played "big cash" games.. well the smallest you'll probably be able to find in Reno is 3/6...
How much money are you planning to bring to Reno - and are you prepared to lose it all and be okay with it?

IWhat do you mean by "Big Cash" To most of us, that means like $10,000 games or bigger. Not that I;ve even seen games like that.
And if you have built a bank upto playing 2/4, then I assume you ahve at least a grand online, and are familiar with the .5/1 and 1/2 games online. Most of the low limt live games you will find (in my experience) are very similar to these levels.
I have found the best way to break the ice, is to play in a low buy-in Tournament. This lets you know if you can play live without risking too much money at first. Then when you do get to the cash games, you won't be playing scared as a total rookie.Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

99- back in full effect.
Don't blow your money away. Bring a lot of it because you'll need it. The 2/4 online games have better players at the table than your normal live 3/6 or 5/10 game. We've been discussing loose-passive small stakes limit games quite a bit as of late. Go through the Strategy threads.
Read Card Player online. You'll sense some basic etiquette guidelines that you'll wanna have. It'll make your experience more fun and more profitable.
Any specific questions?
