    Default Stop-n-Go

i have heard of this move before, on other forums, never really read into it much. Then on the WSOP final broadcast that Raymer himself did commentary for, he described William's pseud0-incorrect use of it vs Arieh.

Now is this a situation for a Stop-n-Go move?

I have in MP, with 9bb's in my stack, bubble is still a long way off, I raise it to 3.5bb's. Expecting the very loose BB to call with any two big cards, he does.

    Flop

    I push the rest.

Correct use of the Stop-n-Go? Any other ideas, comments on it use?

I'm guessing you mean bet a little so he'll call and then push him off the hand on the flop? so instead of just winning the blinds you win more. Is this what you mean by stop and go?

I think the stop and go is when someone else raises, and you call intendending to push no matter what hits.

Ok, From i understand, you have a shortstack and a marginal hand, but not THAT short of a stack that pushing is not your only option. You raise to get only premium hands to call, and if they flopped seemed to miss them, then you push.

I think raymer (who is an excellent poker theorist, and obviously a good player) described it as a delayed all-in.

this more applies to a hand like 55 where you think an AQ or such will call an all in, by saving money for a flop bet you can get them to fold only seeing 3 cards instead of 5.

    from what I'm understanding

I do this all the time in Head's Up, but I don't think it should have a name.. it's such a common move and play, that it really doensn't deserve a name.. Like I'm not gonna say "Last night man.. yeah... there was this guy.. and I STOP AND GOED HIS ASS!".

Actually, if I ever do say that, I'd like somebody to stab me.
