    Default interesting tournement situation

we were down to the last 150 in a tournement with 520 runners. ive just been moved to a new table. i get a2 off in the sb, its folded around to me. so i decided to go all in, i had like 12 times the big blind and the big blind had about 35 times the big blind. i wasnt sure if i should have done this, i usually think u can wait till u have around 7 or 8 times the bb, before u have to start making moves. i could have folded it but on the other hand im more then likely ahead, and have the opportunity to make a few more chips. anyway what would you guys of done?

I'm all for making moves in this situation (obv depending on reads I have on the bb) but IMO there's no need to push. If you get called you're likely behind (pocket pair or an ace is ahead, they're almost all of what's calling here).

Put in a raise of 2-3bb, if he's a tight player he likely folds here as much as he folds to a push. If he's loose/aggressive and comes over the top he has a much bigger range to the point that alot of the time you'll be ahead when you call.

ya i see what your sayin but the guy is probly gona call me wit anything if i raise 3 times the blind, he had a pretty big stack and if u miss then u probly have to push anyway. u might be giving him an opportunity to hit a card wit like j9. i just wanted the blinds really, i didnt think i had enough to see a flop, casue if i raise anything preflop, im probly gona have to go all in on the flop regardless.

That's a good thing. You'll get him to fold more often on the flop than preflop. If he misses (which he will most of the time) he's gonna have a hard time calling. If I raise and get called, I shove any flop.
