Alright, after having a good start, the last two days have been really bad for me (down some 60 bucks). It seems that I'm either getting the best of it or the worst of it, there doesn't seem to be any middle ground. I"m playing tight and what I think to be aggressive, but it seems that when I do hit a hand I'm in a quandry, because I don't want to bet too big to knock out any callers, yet it always seems like there is some draw on the board that I'm too worried about slow-playing. When I do get called I'm always getting sucked out. Example, yesterday I'm dealt AA (I bet), flop comes 7QA (two spades), I bet two dollars and get one call, turn a blank, I put him all-in (he's got about six bucks), he calls, and of course he hits his third spade (he had Ks4s). Any suggestions on how I can improve my NL ring game?

this is why i don't play a lot of no limit, it's so volatile. you can make 100 great plays and then lose everything you won on a dumb play by yourself or a bad beat.

The guy made a bad call and got lucky. All you can do is put him in a position where calling is a mistake, and when he does in the long run you'll come out ahead.
I know it doesn't make you feel any better.....

You could be playing your "best" game and have 2 losing days.
You could be an absolutely shocking player and "win" for a long while.

dude, I lost sixty bucks on party playing limit in one night trying to clear a 20 dollar bonus, my VPIP was only 19% - I only made a few mistakes, and many many suck out.
the only thing to do is to look at your play honestly, get the Pokertracker hand grabber for UB, you dont know PT to use it, and it will save all your hands for you.

You can load 1000 hands into PT before you have to pay for it, and the had grabber is a free addon they have a link to.

multitable
Some idea of the number of hands you're playing might help... even a strong player can have 1000-2000 of rubbish.. The skill of NL is to realise that this happens and minimise your loses during these periods (and not tilt). If you only play two tables at a time 1500 hands is 15 hours play..... Even with six open (my norm at 0.25/0.5) a five hour desert is quite normal. This is why rake back and promotions (see the Eurbet one that Red has organised) are vital... they save your sanity if you're breakeven..
See me playing $10/$20NL like it was play money
