Just sit down and post in the CO
beavis68: 2d 2h
Pre-flop:
A couple of folds, one call, the guy right next to me raises, I call for one more bet - the button calls and both blinds fold.
Flop (board: 4h 4c Qd): I really like this flop, no obivous draw - and a little scary for someone with JJ or lower.
It checks to the PFR who bets, I raise it, and we lose both players, the PFR just calls.
Turn (board: 4h 4c Qd 8d): - ok, this still looks really good to me, not too much chance of him raising with A8s but hit has happened before.
He checks I bet he calls.
River (board: 4h 4c Qd 8d Td): This dont like as much, AT would be a possible holding for him, and now if he started with AK or AJ suited we have a flush on the board. I figure my odds of getting anoter bet out of a worse hand are not good, and the odds of him having some kind of pair he won't let go of are enough to make a bet -EV. He check I check.
Showdown:
mnkyhook shows Kc Ah.
mnkyhook has Kc Ah 4h 4c Qd: a pair of fours.
beavis68 shows 2d 2h.
beavis68 has 2d 2h 4h 4c Qd: two pair, fours and deuces.
Anyone play this differently?
Oh yeah - this is LIMIT, so I could not have gone all-in on the flop![]()

I'd push the turn...
I think I am folding pre-flop here, maybe a bit tight, but I don't like it for two bets pre-flop.
Flop, turn, and river: I play it the exact same way.

Why cant he have AQs?
Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

Because he would re-raise the flop with Q's, and bet the turn and river probably.

Yeah, but, as I said to beav, I'm not sure this is a "good" flop for 22, but at least since he decided to play it, he raised, not flat called

Nope!
Actually I DO agree with the way you played this with 22 considerig that flop and play as described...it was his fault not to bet that flopand bet it all the way out, if he had I would say I would not have made it to the river with 22. .....
BUT
In a limit game, the true poker trash game, which I am not sure why anyone plays......ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE and suck outs are likely....therefore, BOTH OF YOU ARE FOOLS FOR EVEN PLAYING AT THAT TABLE!

AT, there were 5.5 bets in the pot, so I was getting decent odds.
Central, if he would have 3-bet me, and/or fired on the turn, I would have folded like tent.
The reason that I thought it was a good flop.....
I thought there a good chance it didn't pair anyone, and since I had a blind posted, they couldn't tell how it hit me. Also, with the Q there, it could scare off someone with a middle pocket pair.

AT, This was a limit game.
I have to agree with Marm on "Why doesn't he have AQ" and add why not AQ, KQ, JJ, TT, 99, 88, or even 77. If he played this AK like this, why would he call down with these hands? I hope you took a note on him.
I do agree with you Beav that this is a good flop for you, but only if you had 3 bet PF. I don't agree with 3 betting deuces PF, but in the CO or button with low/medium pairs, you wanna:
A.) Be aggressive PF to isolate at take to a flop like this early.
or
B.) Call 2 bets with people involved and play for the set.
I say you go for B and fold on the flop.

Yea it was a joke because I misread a hand earlier in the day.

Alex, he could have had those hands, but.
1. he may have folded to the raise (77,88...)
2. if I could get it heads-up, I thought that the chance he would have any of those hands that he would raise PF with one person already in vs other unpaird hands that would miss this flop was in my favor.
3. The pot was big (10.5SBs) and worth trying for.
I will take all these comments into consideration, this is definitely not routine play.
Oh also a reason I thought it was a good flop is that there were no draws, if someone called behind, I would know that they have SOME kind of hand.
