Default Starting player needs help against donks

    Hello all,

I play micro SnG's on stars. Have not been playing that long and am trying to build a bankroll, but am finding with $3 SnG's & $3 MTT, at the start and sometimes at the end ppl calling pre flop raises with crap and out-drawing me. I consider myself an average player but cant get my head around beating these micro games. Does any have any advice on beating these fish and winning these micros?

If you constantly are putting your money into pots with better hands than your opponents you will beat the game long term. If you only lose when outdrawn carry on playing that way.

    Post some hand histories.

Ofttimes there are other plays in a hand before the money goes in that can prevent the all in situations from occurring in the first place.
If you are one in a million, there's eight just like you in Manhattan.

I know what you mean. I've been playing on FTP for quite a while and did move up to the higher buy-ins, where you really don't see people going all in with absolute junk (definitely a good thing). Just keep playing the better hands and you'll get up there.

The biggest key for me in countering the donks is patience. In those early small SnG's, if someone goes all-in on the first few hands, I don't even bother calling unless I have an absolute monster. Eventhough if I suspect that say my A10 is the best hand, I just lay it down and wait for better timing. Unless if I have something like AA, KK...some absolute monster pre-flop, I don't bother calling all-in raises from the first couple hands. Of course also there were times when I did have AA, called the people with 'all-in fever' and then have been drawn out, but there's nothing you can do about that.

The best advice would just be patient and let all those donks do what they want. There's no point in trying to bluff them. So, just be patient and wait for a killer hand against the donks and most of the time they will give you their chips.
