So I was playing in a home game last week and this hand came up. There was 7 players at the time of this hand. First let me run down the chips, players position and their postion.
Blinds were 100/200 with a 25 ante. We all start with 10k, blinds go up every 30 mins. until we get to 1000/2000 100 ante. At that point blinds go up in 45 minute increments.
Seat 1 (button): 15k in chips; cl; likes to play loose, but very good player over all
Seat 2 (sb): 7k in chips; calling station, new to the game
Seat 3 (bb): 10k in chips; one of the better players I play with in this particular game, switches gears a lot, hard to get a read off of and likes to represent the nuts when he does'nt always have it
Seat 4 (utg):9k in chips; will play anything pre-flop, likes to chase down draws and will play for a bet/call if he hit anything on the flop
Seat 5: 5k; loves to bluff away all his chips; very weak and is involved in about 90% of the hands
Seat 6: 12k; very tight player; only raises preflop with AK suited, aces or kings.
Seat 7 (ME): 12k in chips
Preflop:
UTG calls; 5 calls; 6 calls;
I look down to see 3d3h. It was early and I had plenty of chips so I called
button calls; sb calls; bb checks;
pot size: 1575
Flop: 3s 7h 10c
sb checks; bb bets out 700; utg ponders for a minute and then folds; 5 calls immediately; 6 smooth calls leading me to believe he has Jacks; I call, looking to trap on the turn or river; button folds; sb check raises to 1400, I could sense major weakness on his part and knew he was on a draw at best; bb comes over the top of sb and raises to 2500; 5 lays his hand down faster than you can say pocket aces; 6 goes into the tank and by this I know he can't have me beat. at this point I think he has 9's or a straight draw and was hoping to pick something up. he ends up calling; back to me:
decision time
pot size at this point is: (7x200)+(7x25)+(700x4)+(700+1100 raise by sb)+(1800 call and raise by bb)+(1800 call by 6)=7975 in the pot.
At this point I knew I had sb beat. I had no clue what BB had. I was also fairly certain I had 6 beat as well. What would you do in this situation and why? Results to come...

How do you play this hand?
all my fears, they won't leave me alone, they try to push me back, but I won't go, I'll stay right here until I fall face down in the dirt...

Well, here's my thinking. I don't know if the BB would check 77 in the BB, but that's what he might have. If he's good like you say, he would have to have a hand to come over the top of a check/raise. You might be looking at a push by the SB. Call this weak, but I think...I'm folding.

If they have you beaten, so be it.

I agree with Beavis, you can't fold unless you are 100% he has you.
He could have an overpair(unlikely), AT, 3T, 7T, T3.Read my musings on poker and life at PokerNewsBoy.com, and My Poker Blog

Reraise, two hands beat you... doubtful anyone has 1010 so im thinking only 77 beats you and pretty sure no one has 77... im guessing someone has A10 possibly JJ... id raise 2,000 more then go all in on the turn

If you are going to re-raise, I think you have to push.

why do these players need such strong hands they were the blinds. they could easily hold a goofy 2 pair.

chances are
chances are you have them dominated and want to extract as much as you can... unless they are really good they will pay off another 2k when they might not call an all in...
