If there were a couple of callers to you that is one thing, but short handed - you know.

Ok, I play 2-bit/4-bit and .5/1 and I am still learning, maybe Steve-O can give you some good advice, but I will try anyway.

Flop, ok you called so how do you play it? You flopped top pair decent kicker, MP checks, raiser bets - but that doesn't mean anything, he could have TT or AJ, you have to raise here. You need to make sure MP doesn't call, and if you get 3-bet by the raiser you can figure him for a hand and call or fold, folding if you don't improve on the turn.

I don't like the turn raise, you do have a stronger hand, but not that strong heads-up, and he is not going to worry about the 5s. If you had raised the flop and got three bet, I would definitely call here.

River play is fine. Getting almost 12:1 on your call he only had to be on some kind of bluff or an underpair once in a great while.

    I'd raise the flop.
The turn is debateable, the raise isn't that bad but I might just call
Can you muck the river versus this player?

    Ok,

preflop - if you are going to play a marginal hand in a raised pot you need to re-raise. you'll eliminate the blinds and possibly the MP player. and your opponents actions (call or cap) will give you a better idea what you are up against. Calling just keeps you in the dark to what he holds and drops your chances of winning the hand by allowing others in the pot for a single bet (the BB and the MP).

the flop - since you didn't raise preflop you need to raise here, once again to eliminate everyone else and to see where you stand, you waited until the turn to see where you stand you should have tried to find out not only earlier in the hand but when the bets are cheaper.

turn - if you had raised earlier you would know just to call, as it is you have no choice but simply call since you have no idea what your opponent has.

river - call. again you have no idea where you stand and your sitting on top pair (your kicker doesn't matter since it is highly unlikely this player would raise KT, if your sharing a King you know your beat)
