    Default backfired weak lead

    http://www.pokerhand.org/index.php?page=view&hand=32746

i dno..... what you think? now it looks like a check behind woulda been great lol. it looked like he was drawing and theres lots of draws that woulda missed. i wanted to look weak so he would raise which he did lol, but wasnt expecting that.

    - he was bluffed that big because of my stack that thats what it would take for me to fold?
    - he was betting that big for value because of my stack he thought that was my threshold?

i dno i couldnt figure it out and didnt have 20 hands on him yet so i folded. better spots i guess, but can you turn down free money? lol

Well You induced a bluff you didnt want withg that very weak river bet.

At least a $5 dollar bet if you are going to bet. Unless he is sitting on QQ, You won't get raised, probably. Theres $7 in the pot, $5 is a bige nough bet in realtionship to the pot to allow you to possibly take it down; get called, and not raised by a better hand, and ahve the option to ge away relatively cheaply if they do raise.

But really, the only hand I see him holding here is , flat call till the river looking for the flush, and then he backs into a str8. Possibly , but thats doubtful.

So if you thin k hes got the str8 then check behind, but if you are set on betting, then AT LEAST $5.

If you wanted a bluff, then whyd you fold? Thats not inducing a bluff then, thats losing money.

Espeically since you have a hand that you DO NOT want to induce a bluff with. Its weak (realtive) to the board, and a big enough bluff, y ou cannot call, as you found out.

Either Check, or bet like you mean it. He smelled weakness and slammed you.

i wasnt expecting a $10 bet into an $8 pot. that doesnt happen on party.

if anything ill check behind betting $5 or so doesnt make sense

i was either expecting him to call with ace high or raise to 5 or something with nothing or fold but it didnt work

im not questioning how i played it. i like the way i played it. coulda just checked behind but was trying to squeeze out another $5 or something. i posted here cuz his raise was so large and i didnt know what it meant.

Bet the flop? Your hand is very likely good here. You don't want to give two clubs infinite odds, same with JTetc. Weak lead doesn't seem right on this river, if you try to induce a bluff, you have to call a a possible one. I'd bet $2.5-$4 on the river and probably give it up if he raises this blank.

The river raise looks like a missed draw, but it might have been a rivered straight w/ flush draw on the flop or rivered two pair with flush draw on flop.
