For the past month or so i really feel i have hit a ceiling with my poker game. I dont feel i am getting any better. I have been playing break even poker ever since a alittle over a month ago. Ever since i broke my $500 mark i just honestly cant beat the game anymore. I have been going back and forth between $525-$600 for what seems like forever. Just small ups and downs but always ending in a break even week/month.
I know and can feel their is a clear hole in my game, but i cannot figure out what it is. It gets quite frusterating honestly. I know its not riverstars causing it because i can tell it is obviously my game (addmitting i have a problem is the first step, no?)
So bassically, how do u guys suggest that i improve my game. Over the next few weeks i am going to go on a cram session and actually try to read all 4 books i have (HOH 1-3 and NLHETP), however, after being about 1/5 the way into NLHETP i really dont feel like im getting much out of it, and most of it is just going over my head.
Give me some suggestions on how to better my game. Quitting isnt an option im to addicted already![]()

Play turbo sng's. Just trust me. If you don't double your br within 2 months I'll send you a letter of apology.
Could god microwave a burrito so hot, that he himself could not eat it?

Lol if u look at my sharkscope, SNGs are not my favorite thing in the world. I have a hell of alot of varience with them
My brother on the other hand, freaken kills them.
He use to play alot on Party awhile back untill this year when he bassically stoped. He got an apartment with a few friends and i guess it just lost priority. He came over the other day and saw me playing and it got him back into it.
He had $16 on stars, did a turbo frenzy, and now check his sharkscope for less then a weeks time. Phoenixdan8 is his name. Pretty damn impressive IMOIf everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there'd be peace.-John Lennon

Pheonixdan5 - I've gone through a similar slump myself. I've been pretty much break even for the last 2 months and this was after running at 12bb/100 for the previous 6 months. The thing is I've been through periods like this before and each time I've used it to re-asses my game and ultimately improve.
I've downloaded the Cardrunners sample videos and have been very impressed with them. I'm also slightly put off by $50 membership fee and $20 a month subscription, but I believe that Green Plastics videos in particular could make me that back easily. It's nearly Christmas and I've got to buy myself a little something.
I found myself watching video and trying to predict what GP was going to do with the hand. If it was different to how I would have played it then I listened to his explanation. I found this very useful and noticed a few potential leaks in my game.
You said that you have HOH I-III and NLHETAP, but imply that you haven't fully read them. Well, I would recommend HOH series first. NLHETAP is a great book, but it is very advanced. I think that eventually it will make me a very good player if I apply the theories correctly, but initially I think that it has harmed certain aspects of my game. I don't want to sound like I'm blaming the book here - it's more likely me that's not applying the theory correctly. For example Sklansky recommends open limping on the button with hands that have significant implied odds (because winning a big pot with a monster is better than forcing the blinds to fold in cash game). I think I may be over-using this technique - this was brought to my attention after watching the Cardrunners video.
So my advice is to use this slump to re-asses your game and you will come through it.
