Default Talk about coincidence Mr McJ

Mr McJ and I hooked up in the same SnG today and I was witness/victim to a strange coincidence. Mr McJ got eliminated in the 1st Level calling an all-in with A-K with A-7-? on the flop. About 6 or seven hands later this happened:

I think the line you take, you have to chek the flop for a trap. in that sense it worked out well. i'd also suggest raising Ak OOP v.s min raise. v.s standard pot raise, I would sugegst smooth call, but v.s min, you should repop this.

that is one hell of a coincidence.

(chance of same table w/MrMCJ) x (chance of both of you busting w/ same hand) x (busting w/ same flop texture) = crazuness

At this early stage in the tourney, I don't mind just calling here, OOP pf. The pot is t165. Winning this is not going to help you go deep in the tourney. An effective reraise (say to 260) still gives original raiser 2:1 odds to call. Now you have put in 12% of your chips pf with a drawing hand (trying to win t165?). Flop comes, and oh, you gotta act first and you either put in another 15% of your chips on a c-bet or you give up the hand.
I'll play AK aggressive in the later stages where pots are woth a damn pf, but in Level II, I'm looking to stack someone on the flop or just lose a minimal amount.
Unlucky he hits 2 pair, but that's not going to happen often (I know... tell that to MrMcJ...)

hahaha....

As for my hand. I was in the SB. 4 or 5 players limped and I raised it to $150 (7.5bb.) Villain called, everyone else folded. Flop came A7x. I bet $400, villain raised all in for $800 more and I called. He had A7 and I had my exit.

Guys I don't think the orginal thread was about how hands were misplayed or not--- he was just sharing an observation that AK lost to A7 twice in six hands.... Anyone have probability stats on that to share with him...

Forum = General Poker Strategy

A/8 is cool. He can handle a little hand analysis.
