I was playing live cash poker at the casino yesterday and the game went 3 handed. One of the players was making the 1 of the best strategical plays I have ever seen (Not sure if he realsied or was just gambling).

Everytime he was on the button he would straddle.

This means:
a) He gets to act last on preflop as well as post flop betting rounds
b) The pot is bigger when he has position

Is there any reason to not always play this way?

Can do this in any game. It builds the pot in a dead game.
