A couple months ago in Atlantic City I made this play. I feel it is legal and though people questioned me nothing was done...
I was about the 7th to act with a small raise in front me and a few calls. I had A-K suited. I declared "blind raise" and threw in 40 dollars on a 1-2 table. I had just taken a nice pot a few hands ago. The origional raiser called, and the guy just behind me was baffled by my play and asked the table "did he really just blind raise like that?"
Of course I had looked at my hand as I have stated. The dealer actually backed me up and said "He called blind raise"!!! I was so excited when the dealer said that.
The hand did not actually get very exciting after that but I did win, and did have to show my cards. I heard quite a few mummbles of "yeah right" etc. etc.
Is this move legal?? I can't see why not, but just want to check.
thoughts?
Thanks

So it wasn't a blind raise... I dunno it's a little dirty. It's similar to trash talking about what cards you have etc...

It makes you an asshole. But whatever. Just dont expect people at the table to like you.

Yeah, I got a few grumbles and comments. Like iI care! It's war and I want to win and will do whatever it takes. I feel my play was a bluff, and a good one, I just want to make sure that as I do it again and again I don't get callled out by some pit boss.

Poker is war but there is still some honor. This is no different than the person who would stab someone in the back rather than fight them face to face.

I don't see how you can keep this up, eventually someone is gonna notice that you are looking at your cards beforehand. At this point you will be heckled/get your ass kicked/fornicated. Not necessarily in that order.

I love the reactions! It only works once, and its best to save for an AK suited AA KK. Its nice to get one of these hands after you just took down a pot too. It adds to your play.
I am a very nice person but at a table I could care less about anyone or anything except money in front.
I would love for someone to get so mad they threatened me. That would really get the game going. Love it!
