Default When bluffing aggressively?

I show my cards if I am the chip leader hoping to set someone up making them think I am bluffing later on. However is it a good idea if you are low man to show the chip leader you bluffed him?

I never show a bluff in a tournament.
Since I will miss more flops than I will connect with, I want my bluffs to work. The best way to ensure that they do is to never be caught bluffing. I understand the idea of showing a bluff to generate action later but I don't need to generate action since I'm not a tight player. By playing a loose/aggressive style as I do, I already get all the action I can handle. I usually do the opposite and showdown my stronger hands. This makes my bluffs more effective and shows my opponents that while I may be playing loose, I'm not always making a move on them.

In a cash game though, I might show a bluff occasionally. There's no need to accumulate chips and keep up with the blinds so I can show a bluff and then wait 30 hands for AA or KK.

^ I agree with Mr.McJ. showing a bluff can have its good and bad, sometimes I show it to make someone mad, because i know the player, but in a tournament, you should "almost" "never" bluff.

I only show if I know the player gets on tilt very easily. I never show the chip leader a bluff, I really don't see any advantage in that.

Showing your cards

My thoughts on this went here. I don't show my cards in tournaments. I'll show in cash games at times, but I click the automuck. I think it's courteous to have it checked so the game moves faster.i was reading a blog where john Juanda recently said to Prahlad Friedman on Full Tilt Poker that, "showing bluffs is for rookies" when Pra got a bit overconfident with the table. I tend to agree.

i never show bluffs. i muck my hands everytime. i play loose/agressive and often make plays which appear to be loose and a complete bluff when i'm actually holding the nuts. you get more calls when appearing loose anyway. i suppose really my play isn't loose/aggresive, its more tight aggresive with crafty plays and techniques which make me appear looser than i actually am. all the best players make good bluffs and any good player knows this,- so why the need to show it? the reason i think is to basically mix people up, make the bad player call you when you hold the nuts. but don't even expect for one minute a good player will be fooled by this.
if your winning most pots and have a nice looking stack and appear loose yet never get caught bluffing and never share your sucessful bluffs, to others you come across as pretty formidable and its a mare to play against that sort of player.
anyway i don't ever show my bluffs because i get called anyway from appearing so loose and it really would'nt make my play any more profitable.

I never show them unless I'm chip leader in heads up.

Then I'll show a few bluffs to make them think I'm just stealing their blinds, which they will try to emulate. Then I hit them with a decent hand and take them out.

it really depends on the situation and how well you know the player. since this is a tournament atmosphere im gonna assume you dont know the leader very well, therfore, you will not know how he will react to you showing a bluff. if the player seems to tilt easily i would say, hell yea show the bluff! if yyou can throw that player off his/her game by showing a bluff i would most certainly do it. if the player shows little emotion wether it be by chatting or the way he/she bets, i wouldent show the bluff simply because your giving a emotionless player information.

sorry for the rambling but i will sum it up in 2 points.

1) show the bluff to the emotional player if it will advantage you

2) muck the bluff if you are dealing with a player who consistantly makes the same plays.
