    Default How can AQ be a losing hand for me?

    I have had it over 80 times in my STTs and so far it is a losing hand. Maybe when I get home and have them available I'll post up some HHs to see if it is me or not.

    It's weird as AJ and AT are winning hands for me but AQ is quite a substantial looser. I know I have lost a heads up with AQ recently so I guess that could skew the results a bit.

    Any idea how many times you need to have had a particular hand before its true value starts to show?

    I don't find this surprising.

    AQ was my biggest loser on PT for a long time.

    I started folding AQ in early position at a 10 handed table, some people just call and fold to a raise.

    How many times has Ivey busted out of a WPT/WSOP with AQ? Like 7 or something?
    You should play AQ like it's AJ, which you should be playing like AT, which you should be playing like A9......

    This is probably my problem. I had the same problem with AJ a while back but I started playing it more like I do with AT and it is now a winning hand for me. AQ may need to go in that group too. I like the look of it tho!

    AK = 1
    AQ = 2

    AJ,AT=3

    A9 and down = 4

    my rank in Ax hands.

    My advice for beginners....treat AQ to A2 the same until you improve your post flop game. I would say this applies more to cash games than tourneys but even in tourneys you should proceed with caution.

    For me AQo = winner and AQs = loser, surprisingly. I have much higher PFR for AQs. So, increasing limp ratio should help...?

    you are more likely to get all in with AQ that AJ-2 so you are more likely to be putting your whole stack at stake. When you get called you're usually only getting called by a better hand. Until you are a postflop stud you will probably see this trend continue.
