This situation came up for me. Very first hand of HU play. What is the minimum hand you call with here?
Villain was not a donk, but pretty typical low level Stars Sng somewhat LAG.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t600 (2 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: ITH Forums)
Button (t3696)
Hero (t11304)
Preflop: Hero is BB with,
.
Button raises to t3646, Hero calls t3046.
Flop: (t6742)
I don't want to corrupt responses with the results.

1st hand of HU

With a chip lead like this, there's no reason to gamble in a big pot with the minute information of seeing only 28.6% percent of your hand and that 28.6% being a horrible King. Giving him the t900 does little for him with a fold. You know you're the better player so you can get him deeper into a flop to donk off.
You're a coin flip at best to 2 cards in the middle or an underpair, but he'll do it with just a lot of hands and still you're 3:2 (?) against a random hand. You could say that evening you up is the only risk and feeling that you're the better player isn't a bad risk, but with the blinds this high, that risk leaves it up to too much luck for my liking.
HU thoughts very personal, though.

very easy call.
Worst case he has Kx.
All ins like this are never dominant hands. AA-QQ will all slow play pf imo. KQ, KJ, Q9 will all do this however. the old all in w/ weak hand is trying to scare you. mainly b/c this is only 5bb (with already 1 bb invested) I cal.I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.

you are forgetting that he probably has A-x.. remember there are only 3 more K's left in the deck, so the odds of him having A-x are a lot greater than him having a K-x... especially one that you can eat... he could still have KQ KJ KT K9 along with any ace to hve you beat right now when all the money goes in.. when you have that much of a lead, HU play is all about grinding down your opponent playing smal pots super-aggressively until a double-up from your oppenent wont matter...

I'd call with something a little stronger, KTs+
If he has A9 then your K8 doesn't look good.

youd' be like 40/60 vs A9, your getting 7:5 odds. If i feel I can beat him, I will call b/c Im not scared of us being even. I agree w/ Av8s range thhough. He can have some strong hands.

pushing with K8s is 100 times a better play than calling an all in here with k8s.
with that said, there are much much better spots to get your money in.
just fold and wait for one.
